Compare the Licorice Love and Detox ceramic canisters on capacity, included tea, and price to decide which one earns shelf space in your kitchen.
Quick answer
Choose the Licorice Love Canister if you want a smaller 60g loose leaf or 20-pyramid starter set with a spearmint-licorice blend; choose the Detox Canister if you prefer a 75g loose leaf or 20-pyramid option built around a naturopath-selected organic herbal blend. Both share the same airtight, light-blocking ceramic design.
Capacity and included tea: the real differentiator
The canisters themselves are described identically in the catalog: ceramic, airtight, light-blocking, and gift-ready. The practical difference is what comes inside. Licorice Love includes your choice of 60g loose leaf or 20 pyramids; Detox includes 75g loose leaf or 20 pyramids. That 15g gap matters if you brew large pots daily or want a longer runway before reordering, but it is negligible if you rotate blends often.
The blends also serve different drinking occasions. Licorice Love pairs organic licorice root with spearmint, a combination that suits caffeine-free evening cups. Detox is a naturopath-selected organic herbal blend, so it fits buyers who want a purposeful wellness tea rather than a sweet-savoury sipper. Neither canister is sold empty in the supplied records, so treat the tea as part of the purchase, not an accessory.
Price and value trade-off
At catalog prices, Licorice Love is USD 27.88 against a USD 41.00 comparison price, while Detox is USD 27.72 against USD 42.00. The two are nearly identical in price, so the decision should not hinge on a few cents. Instead, weigh the 75g versus 60g loose leaf fill and whether you actually enjoy the blend. A canister you refill with a tea you love is better value than a slightly larger one holding a blend you drink rarely.
Remember that the airtight seal and light protection are the canister's long-term job. Once the included tea is finished, both vessels can store any loose leaf or pyramids you choose, so the size difference becomes a one-time bonus rather than a permanent limitation.
What the catalog does not tell you
The supplied records do not list exact external dimensions, empty weight, or whether the canister is dishwasher-safe. If counter or shelf space is tight, measure your intended spot and compare against the product page's dimension details before ordering. Likewise, hand-wash guidance is not stated, so treat the ceramic body gently and keep the lid seal dry to preserve the airtight fit.
Trade-offs to weigh before you choose
- Fill size versus flexibility: Detox gives 75g loose leaf; Licorice Love gives 60g. If you brew multiple cups a day, the extra 15g delays your next order; if you like variety, the smaller fill lets you move on sooner. Estimate your weekly loose leaf use before deciding whether 15g is meaningful.
- Blend style versus storage priority: Licorice Love is a licorice root and spearmint blend; Detox is a naturopath-selected organic herbal blend. Pick the tea you will actually drink, because the canister's airtight, light-blocking design is identical on both. If you dislike licorice or spearmint, the storage benefit does not justify the purchase.
- Loose leaf versus pyramid format: Both canisters offer 20 pyramids as an alternative to loose leaf. Choose pyramids for speed and easy cleanup, or loose leaf for adjustable strength and lower packaging per cup. Match the format to your brewing routine, not to the canister.
- Gift versus personal use: Both are described as gift-ready, but the recipient's taste should drive the choice. A wellness-focused drinker may prefer Detox; a sweet, caffeine-free sipper may prefer Licorice Love. For gifting, confirm the recipient enjoys the blend before relying on the canister's presentation.
